Business Case Consultant, Business Case Writer, Business Case Author London - Construction, Building, Quantity Surveying, ME, Public Sector We are currently recruiting on behalf of a very high profile Government Department for a Business Case Writer to produce, lead and deliver business cases for a diverse and exciting range of projects typically ranging between £50m and £500m in value. The successful candidate will be required to meet the needs of internal departments and to report to all interested parties, including project boards, Clients and stakeholders. Applicants should be able to demonstrate previous proven capability in the following areas: -Writing (or managing the drafting of) a business case for a medium or large scale multi-million pound projects that was agreed, and was either successfully completed on time and within budget (including any contingency reserve) or is currently on track to do so. -Managing complex contracts and consultants either directly or through other contractors -Relevant degree ideally in building or quantity surveying. Other relevant degrees include ME, structural or civil engineering, architecture, quantity surveying, or project or construction management. -Please note that the relevant projects will ideally either be construction, renovation, health or education sector related, or else the successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to adapt to an unfamiliar and complex subject matter. Responsibilities will include the development and completion of the Business Cases through: -Conducting a gap analysis of the evidence and supporting information available against the full scope of requirements for such a complex, large scale and challenging projects. -Commissioning the further work required to ensure that stakeholders and decision makers can be provided with a fully comprehensive set of information. -Establishing robust, convincing and compelling arguments that lead from evidence to informed recommendations. -Engaging with stakeholders in the development and presentation of the arguments concerned. -Overseeing the authoring, consultation and submission of the business cases where required to do so to the Accounting Officers and responding to any emerging issues to secure agreement. -Coaching, advising on the process, procedure and content to project leaders while they write business cases. -Ensuring that business cases conform to the agreed 5 Case model process and HM Treasury; and Green Book guidelines as appropriate.
